In the first step of the connection process, the Distribution Network Operator (DNO) drastically reduced the number of documents required for connecting a customer to the distribution network. The applicant must submit the document confirming the applicant's relation to the property to be connected and the application featuring the requested input power. No longer required are documents submitted by applicants to other state administration bodies, such as building permit, occupancy certificate... We have cancelled temporary electricity offtakes which means that customers are able to select any product offered by SSE, a.s.
We also designed a simplified Connection Application form so that problems are avoided when filling it in. The reverse side of the form features a list of documents necessary in individual steps.
This form even serves as a portion of the Connection Contract at one point, namely when a customer applies for it (by simply checking the field) and pays the connection fee after receiving SSE's standpoint. This method of concluding the Connection Contract significantly reduces the time necessary for getting connected and simplifies the entire process of concluding this contract that is required by the law.
The applicant (citizen, business, state body...) may apply for connection in person at the representation office, by phone via the Customer Center or by mail. With respect to the fact that the majority of cases involve a technical problem, the DNO employees call the applicant back, or possibly call the respective Building Office. After analyzing the process involving new connection, it was in this step where we identified the majority of problems occurring on both sides and also the longest time delays. Therefore, in the next step the DNO has been proposing cooperation to individual microregions via the project "Distribution Network Operator Supports Development of Regions".
